Dear Gary,

Thank you for taking the time to review our letter of August 18. Unfortunately, it seems that there was a mixup in your correspondence department, as what we received in response was just a copy of our letter with your handwritten notes, and not a final letter. We looked over your notes to try to understand what direction your response might take, but found them to be just reminders to yourself about how you would address our questions rather than specific answers, as we requested. Also, many of the notes were illegible and cut off at the edge of the page due to photocopying.

As the head of an international organization such as GFI you undoubtedly like to be aware of what is sent out. We thought we would alert you to this oversight and look forward to receiving your final letter.
